PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, the government of India has come up with another initiative to provide the least income support to farmers. Piyush Goyal announced the scheme during the Interim Union Budget of India, which was presented on 1 February 2019.
While a majority of the population engaged in agriculture, the PM KISAN scheme does not direct help the poorest section of the population. In fact, the scheme has failed to reach the poorest segment of the farming community, name, small and marginal farmers.

The beneficiaries receive a trimester financial help of Rs 2,000 per financial year.
